Sencha Fukujyu: Green tea.
Genmaicha: Green tea (50%), roasted rice, puffed rice.
Sugar sticks: White sugar; brown sugar (approx. 6 g each).
Use 1 heaped teaspoon per 200–250 ml of water cooled to 70–80 °C — boiling water scorches Japanese green tea and turns it bitter
Steep for 1–2 minutes
Lift the strainer out and rest it on the lid. The leaf will give you a second and third infusion
Store the teas in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong odours. Green tea is best drunk fresh.
Hand washing is recommended for the mug, lid and strainer.
New Bone China — not suitable for the microwave when the metal strainer is in place.
Both teas contain caffeine.
Genmaicha contains rice.
