Ingredients: hibiscus blossoms (Hibiscus sabdariffa).
Hibiscus, also known as roselle or Sudanese mallow, is grown across Africa, Asia and the Caribbean, where it's been a much-loved drink for generations – think agua de Jamaica in Mexico or karkadé in Egypt.
Brew it hot for a tangy, warming cup, or make a big jug, chill it overnight and serve over ice with mint and a squeeze of lime.
Good to know: avoid hibiscus if you are allergic to plants of the mallow family or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and check with your pharmacist if you take regular medication.
